In the relentless pursuit of performance, safety, and durability, industries from aerospace to precision engineering demand materials that not only meet, but exceed, the highest standards. For applications where the ultimate combination of strength, lightweight properties, and reliability is paramount, one material stands head and shoulders above the rest: the 7000 Series Aluminium Round Bar (7075).

The Ultimate Strength: 7075 Aluminium Round Bar for Critical Applications

At Preferred Alloys Sdn Bhd, we understand the critical nature of your projects. That’s why we proudly offer 7075 Aluminium Round Bar, a material specifically engineered to thrive in the most challenging environments. Known for its exceptional strength-to-weight ratio, 7075 is the go-to alloy for designers and engineers pushing the boundaries of what's possible.

Unmatched Strength & Precision for Demanding Environments

The 7075 aluminium alloy is a zinc-containing alloy notable for its superior strength, comparable to many steels, yet retaining the lightweight characteristics of aluminium. This makes it an invaluable asset in industries where every gram counts and structural integrity is non-negotiable.

Engineered for Elite Performance Across Diverse Industries

When compromise is not an option, 7075 aluminium round bar steps in. Its unparalleled properties make it indispensable across a spectrum of high-stakes applications:

Aircraft & Aerospace: From critical aircraft fittings and fuse parts to robust components for missiles and general aircraft structures, 7075 ensures safety and performance under extreme conditions.
Precision Engineering: Ideal for high-stress gears, shafts, and regulating valves where precision and endurance are vital.
Automotive & Marine: Utilized in high-performance racing components and marine parts requiring corrosion resistance alongside strength.
Specialized Applications: Preferred for manufacturing durable keys and components in systems requiring high-strength aluminium solutions.

The Hallmark of Superior Material Properties

Our 7075 Aluminium Round Bars are available in various tempers, each offering specific advantages optimized through precise heat treatment processes:

T6 Temper: Offers excellent mechanical properties and high strength, ideal for general structural applications.
T73 Temper: Developed for enhanced resistance to stress corrosion cracking, providing superior reliability in challenging environments.
T6511 Temper: A variant of T6, this temper involves stress-relief stretching and precise dimensional control, leading to improved machining characteristics and dimensional stability.

These tempers ensure that whether your application requires maximum strength, superior stress corrosion resistance, or improved machinability, there’s a 7075 option perfectly suited to your needs.

More Information
The 7075 aluminium round bar is an alloy that is popularly used in aviation and aerospace applications. It is widely recognized for its high strength, and toughness. It is known to be one of the strongest aluminium alloys available. Its weight-to-strength ratio is excellent, which is why it’s frequently used for parts with high stresses. It’s possible to form this metal when it is in the annealed condition. Note that it has greater springback when being formed. If trying to form this metal while in the annealed state and difficulty is found, the metal can be placed in temperatures between 200 and 250 degrees F to give it better formability. To increase the strength of 7075 alloys, heat treatment can be used. It also has excellent properties when in lower temperatures.

The recorded strength levels of the 7075 aluminium alloys are: 73,000 psi yield strength, 83,000 psi tensile strength and 48,000 psi shear strength. The excellent weight-to-strength ratio of the 7075 alloy makes it a popular choice for use in structural parts that have high stress. The applications this alloy is commonly used in include keys, aircraft fittings, regulating valve parts, meter gears, fuse parts, missile parts, worm gears and other commercial aircraft components and defensive equipment. It is also used as a mold material in the plastics industry.

When forging this metal, it is recommended that the temperature be set between 700 and 900 degrees F. This should then be followed by solution heat treatment. It’s not recommended for welding to be used as a joining technique, but if needed, resistance welding can be used. It’s not recommended for arc welding to be used because it can lower the metal’s corrosion resistance.

The available sizes for the 7075 aluminium round bar are between 1 and 3 inches diameter and up to 144 inches long.
